Healing Affirmations

Is there a connection between disease and unforgiveness? Can resentment show up as pain in our body? Can feeling like we are not enough or unlovable impact our bodies?

“The thoughts we think and the words we speak create our experiences.”- So says Louise Hay author of You Can Heal Your Life and new thought spiritual practitioner.

The book is “THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE ON SELF-HEALING, AFFIRMATIONS, AND THE POWER OF THE MIND TO HEAL THE BODY.”

You can heal your life looks at how the thoughts we think can create negative states of being in our body. Repetitive unloving thoughts towards ourselves or others create negativity in our bodies and can outpicture in a variety of ways.

In her book, You Can Heal Your Life, Hay puts forth several exercises for releasing, forgiving and dissolving resentment. She has some great exercises on approval and self-love.

And of course, she has affirmations. Louise Hay, RIP, was known for her affirmations.

In fact, her book started as a small self-copied pamphlet with a list of affirmations related to physical conditions. She has daily affirmations, self-love affirmations, and 40 pages of affirmations related to physical ailments.

For example, for acne she suggests the cause is “not accepting the self. Dislike of the self” and the affirmation is “I am a Divine expression of life. I love and accept myself where I am right now.

For high blood pressure she says the probable cause is “long standing emotional problem not solved,” and the affirmation is I joyously release the past. I am at peace.”

Interestingly for low blood pressure she says the probable cause is “lack of love as a child. Defeatism. What’s the use. It won’t work anyway.”

The affirmation is “I now choose to live in the ever-joyous now. My life is a joy.”

For hip problems she says the probable cause is “Fear of going forward in major decisions. Nothing to move forward to.”

And the affirmation is “I am in perfect balance. I move forward in my life with ease and joy at every age.”

I’ve used this book with myself, my friends and my clients and I am shocked at how insightful this book is and how connected the physical conditions are with the emotional conditions.

Of course, this book is not a substitute for medical advice or medical treatment. However, it can be a helpful guide to address the emotional issues that are contributing to the physical conditions.
